Abstract:

The purpose of this presentation is to bring out the experience of CPDOC in the constitution of a Oral Histoy Video Collection , pointing out several aspects the steps of recording, preserving and disseminating oral history interviews in the project titled " Football , Memory and Heritage" . The project in question was carried out between 2011 and 2013 in partnership with the Football Museum , based in São Paulo, and fifty five interviews have been recorded with past players of the Brazilian national team that participated in the World Cups from 1954 to 1986 , totalling a hundred and twenty eight hours of recording. A key requirement for the realization of the project was the video recordings of oral history interviews , bringing with it a number of issues related to preservation and access . The presentation will therefore be focused on the concerns about the making of the collection such as the choices of equipment and recording formats , management of digital files and the development of resources that facilitate access to interviews , such as the alignment between the transcripts and audio from video files , allowing the location of words in the corresponding video file.
