The XETLA radio station "Voice of the Mixteca", second station created in the Indigenist Cultural Broadcasters System (SRCI) National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CDI), birthday in 2014, 32 years transmitting knowledge and traditions in Mixteco, Triqui, Chocholteco and Spanish, making it the best tool to promote and strengthen the cultural expressions of indigenous peoples and communities in the region besides promoting intercultural communication between the above peoples. Throughout which has generated an invaluable audio file, which are over 3500 open reel tapes that ceased to be used for programming about 8 years ago to prevent deterioration.
In 2013, a regional workshop was received - which we hosted - in which issues were addressed: ethics, preservation, conservation, digitization and catalogation. As a result of this training as the first step of our inventory of open reel tapes is completed. After a selection process among regional radios, the work towards the rescue of this collection began following the new institutional recommendations, the second broadcasting system and the first in the region in which this process takes place.
Derived from the learning of new technologies in order to preserve the cultural manifestations of the peoples of the high Mixteca region of Oaxaca is achieved. As well as a commitment to the region to disseminate the knowledge gained.
